From July 6 to 9, 2026, during Paris Haute Couture Week, Cameroonian designer Imane Ayissi presented his autumn-winter 2026-2027 collection at the Aéro-Club de France, titled Ozouandam Ollat, the Ewondo expression for haute couture. The only sub-Saharan African designer on the official calendar, he unveiled a tribute to his late mother, a former Miss Cameroon and flight attendant, weaving Parisian savoir-faire into the richness of the continent’s artisanal traditions. Tribes & Trends sees here not an exception but a vanguard: proof that African textile excellence speaks, in its own right, the most demanding language of luxury.
